This represents two strain changes to the 2018 Southern Hemisphere Quadrivalent vaccine strain. AVS will be working with all manufacturers in 2019 to ensure that we have a guaranteed supply for our clients. Current estimates for availability of the vaccine in Australia is 2nd – 3rd week of March. With Easter and the school holidays taking place from end of March/early April, we highly recommend booking early to ensure you can receive the earliest vaccination slots available and the best preseason pricing.
Australian Vaccine Services only use the latest flu vaccination strains which are produced and provided by pharmaceutical companies that are authorised to provide vaccines in Australia. Any AVS left stock is destroyed at the end of July each year.
Australian Vaccine Services national onsite flu vaccinations take place between end of March and Mid-June each year. AVS will assign a project manager that will work with your vaccination coordinator or individual site contact(s) to coordinate date(s) that suits both parties. Our recommendation is to administer vaccinations early in the season in order to maximise the benefits of a workplace influenza vaccine.
